The fun began at 11am with live entertainment, children's crafts and games, contests and authentic Mexican food.
The event was once again sponsored by the Imlay City Area Chamber of Commerce, Downtown Development Authority and the Hispanic Service Center.  All activities, unless otherwise noted, took place at the Farmers' Market located at the corner of Main Street and Third Street in downtown Imlay City.

11-11:15am      Welcome Presentation
11:15- Noon     Ray Champion Magic Show
Noon-1:30pm   Mariachi Band
1:00-2:00          Pinata
2:00-2:30         Taco Eating Contest sponsored by Nacho's Taco House
2:30-2:45         Hot Salsa Eating Contest sponsored by Brookwood Bakery of Almont
2:45- 3:30         Dog contests including cutest Chihuahua- sponsored by Kelly's Pet Salon (event takes place at Kelly's Pet Salon located at 208 East Third Street)
3:30-5:00          La Centella Musical- live music
4:00-5:00          Pinata
5:00-6:00          Las Adelitas

All day activities included:  Music by a DJ, Vendors, Children's Craft Tent, Loteria (Mexican Bingo) at local businesses, and a face painter.Kelly't Pet Salon had the Mid-Michigan Boxer Rescue and the Divine Canine Rescue at the store.

Cinco de Mayo Fundraiser

We had a great time at last Friday's Cinco de Mayo fundraising dinner!  Thank you to our wonderful volunteers from the Hispanic Service Center and the DDA who are co-hosts with the Chamber for the 2012 two-day celebration.

We are planning a great Fiesta for May 4 and 5.  If you are interested in planning, volunteering, becoming a food or craft vendor, entertaining or sponsoring the 2012 event, please contact the Chamber office at 810-724-1361.
