Parks
& Recreation
Imlay City residents value time to stop and enjoy
life's special moments - that's why they set aside land for no less
than four parks with playground equipment. The Alvin Norlin Pool
adds a splash of coolness to summer, as children and adults rely
on this attraction not only for casual swimming but to host theme-party
get-togethers as well as water aerobic work-outs.
When the weather turns less than ideal, turn to
upbeat recreational activities such as bowling, roller skating or
simply sit back and watch a movie in surround-sound at the city's
theater.
Nature lovers take in the Seven Ponds Nature Center,
located just south of 1-69, where they can travel the special boardwalks
and bridges to view 313 acres of glacial lakes, wetlands, fields
and woodlands. Golfers hit the links at one of eight private and
public courses scattered across Lapeer County.
And don't forget the fun-in-the-sun beach and
boating activities along Lake Huron in the summer months, as well
as abundant skiing opportunities when the snow flies. Both are well
within a quick drive east.
